Career Services Center Canvas Course

The CVCC Career Services Center is now providing students with the opportunity to enhance career readiness through Canvas modules focused on key career components and resources. These modules can be completed as a series or individually. The modules are designed to walk you through various aspects and tasks to ensure you are ready for your career journey.

Each module comes equipped with an introduction, learning outcomes, multiple resources, action items, and assessments. Students can complete each module in 10 – 20 minutes.

Take a Career Assessment

FOCUS 2 CAREER is an online interactive, self-guided career and education planning system designed to help you make decisions about your future career goals and education plans and be Career Ready!

FOCUS 2 CAREER will guide you through an interactive process that will:

1. Assess your career planning involvement, career readiness competencies, work interests, values, skills, personality type and leisure time interests.
2. Broaden your career options and discover occupations matching your personal preferences and attributes.
3. Discover and explore career fields, majors and training programs that are best for you.
4. Plan a career and educational pathway that will support your personal needs and goals.
5. Understand and build career readiness competencies to help you be career ready.

6. We suggest you start at the top of the dashboard but can start with any module you wish. Use the system as often as you wish. FOCUS 2 saves all your results.

Career Coach
Career Coach is a free online tool designed to guide users in developing a clear vision of their career goals. The real-time labor market data is customized to the College’s geographic region and includes detailed wage estimates and up-to-date job postings associated with any career. Students and community members can explore careers that match your career interest. Individuals can search for jobs and see the largest skill gaps to fill to move to that career. Individuals can also search for careers based on the college’s top training programs or programs of interest.

Pirate Threadz
Students who need professional attire for professional interviews or events may select clothing such as button-down shirts, blouses, blazers, pants, skirts, ties, and suits, from the Pirate Thredz Closet for free. The closet is located in Brassell Hall. Please see someone in Student Development to schedule an appointment for a visit.
