CVCC’s Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC) program emphasizes fundamental principles for air conditioning and refrigeration. Instruction is in the theory and principles of refrigeration and heat transfer, HVAC/R system components, common and specialty tools for HVAC/R, and application of the concepts of basic compression refrigeration. Upon completion, students will be able to identify system components and understand their functions, identify and use common and specialty HVAC/R tools, and maintain components of a basic compression refrigeration system. The HVAC program option offers an Associate of Applied Science, a certificate, and a short certificate.
Additionally, certifications offered in the HVAC program are:
- MSSC Certified Production Technician (CPT)
- Lift Truck Certification
- 10 Hour OSHA
- Universal EPA Certification
