PHENIX CITY, AL— Chattahoochee Valley Community and the Alabama Department of Public Health have partnered to host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Friday, July 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST. Faculty, staff, students, and the entire community are invited. The clinic is being held just in time for the College’s fall reopening. College officials say although COVID vaccinations are not required for students and staff, they are encouraged to get vaccinated as the College prepares to re-open with face-to-face instruction on August 23.

“We are so excited and eager to welcome students back on campus this fall, and we are doing that in the safest ways possible,” said Dean of Instruction Dr. Chantae Calhoun. “Vaccinations are not a requirement this fall, but we want to be a resource to those who desire to get vaccinated. We want to do our part to help keep our community open and safe, so this clinic is open to not only our students and staff, but also to the entire community.”

The Pfizer vaccine will be administered to people at least 12 years of age. Those under the age of 18 will need parental consent. No appointment is necessary. Participants are required to bring identification, and insurance information is requested but not required to receive the vaccination.

The clinic will take place at the College located at 2602 College Dr. in Key Hall. The second dosage will be administered on Friday, August 6. This is the second on-campus vaccination the College has hosted this year. The first one was held in April with the second dosage administered several weeks later.

The CVCC Fall Re-opening Vaccine Clinic is one of two events happening on campus on Friday, July 16. The College will also be hosting the first in-person New Student Experience event in more than a year. The event is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. and is designed to ensure those interested in CVCC learn about the College and leave with a fall schedule in hand.
