Chattahoochee Valley Community College, Department of Public Safety’s mission is to provide our students and emergency services agencies with education and training in all areas of public safety (Criminal Justice, EMS, and Fire Science) that will afford opportunities to earn Certificates and Associate of Applied Science degrees in Criminal Justice, Emergency Medical Services, and Fire Science. College credit is awarded for specific certifications in law enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, and the Fire Service.

Instruction is offered in class and online by the best instructors in this region ensuring up to date material and firsthand experience. Students that prefer in class instruction have the opportunity to choose from very flexible class schedules. CVCC provides very reasonable tuition and fees as well as financial aid to those that qualify.

Many professionals in this region started their career at CVCC.

On September 21, 2015, CVCC and the Alabama Fire College entered into a partnership agreement that affords our fire science and emergency services students’ opportunities to earn both college credit and National Professional Fire and Emergency Service Pro-Board Certifications simultaneously. These certifications are at no additional cost to the students. This partnership is unprecedented and affords our students opportunities to be competitive in the job market. It also enables current public safety professionals to enhance their opportunities for promotional advancement.
