Scholarships at Chattachoochee Valley Community College are provided for qualified outstanding students each year in the following areas: Presidential ScholarshipsStudents who possess a grade average of "80%" or better in all academic course work in high school and/or college are eligible to apply for academic scholarships awarded annually. Students who possess a grade average of "75%" are eligible to apply for leadership scholarships awarded annually. Performing Arts ScholarshipsThe College awards a number of scholarships in Music, Art, and Theater. If you have talents in these areas, contact the Financial Aid Office for further information. Athletic ScholarshipsAthletic Scholarships are awarded on the basis of the recommendation of the coaches and the Athletic Director. Scholarships are awarded in men's baseball, women's fast pitch softball, and ambassadors. Senior Adult ProgramThe Alabama State Board of Education has approved the waiver of tuition for Alabama residents age 60 and over who wish to enroll in college credit courses. College admission requirements must be met and are outlined in the College catalog. Veterans BenefitsVeterans benefits are available for eligible students. CVCC employs a full-time VA advisor to assist veterans and their dependents with certification forms. Alabama National Guard Education Assistance Program (ANGEAP)Benefits of up to $1,000.00 per year are available for students in the Alabama National Guard. Applications must be obtained from and completed first by the Unit Commander. Private Financial Aid SourcesPrivate student aid programs can offer important assistance. Eligibility criteria, application procedures, and the amounts awarded vary from program to program. For information, contact the granting organization directly and comply with their requirements.
