Head Coach Ron Robinson

Ron Robinson enters his third season with the Chattahoochee Valley Community College Lady Pirates. Robinson joined the program as an assistant coach in 2013 and was named Head Women’s Basketball Coach prior to the start of the 2014 season. During his two seasons at CVCC, Robinson helped the Lady Pirates claim the ACCC Southern Conference Title consecutive years in 2013 and 2014. In his first season as head coach, Robinson was named ACCC Southern Conference Coach of the Year. Robinson developed two ACCC 1st Team All-Region players, Jamese Abney and Mykiesha Darden, in 2014. He also assisted with the development of Braxton Talton, 2013 ACCC Southern Conference Player of the Year.

Before arriving at CVCC, Robinson was a volunteer assistant coach at North Highland Assembly in the Columbus Parks and Recreation League from 2009-2012. Robinson assisted North Highland Assembly in claiming the Men’s League Championship in 2009, 2010, 2011, and League Runner-Up in 2012.

Robinson is a native of Mobile where he led Vigor High School to a 33-4 record and Final Four appearance in 2003. Prior to beginning his coaching career, Robinson was no stranger to the ACCC after he spent two seasons as a student athlete at Faulkner State Community College from 2003-2005. Robinson was a 2005 NJCAA All-American Honorable Mention and ACCC All-Region player while at Faulkner State. In 2005, Robinson transferred to play his final two collegiate seasons at Columbus State University, where he was coached by late Hall-of-Fame Coach Herbert Greene. While at CSU, Robinson was a two time Peach Belt All Conference and two time South Atlantic All-Region player. Robinson received his bachelor’s degree at Columbus State University and plans to pursue a master’s degree in the near future.
