Distinguished Alumnus

 Crystal Trawick

Crystal W. Trawick is an accomplished alumnus of Chattahoochee Valley Community College, completing her Associate of Science in 2012. She is currently the COO of Fun Academy Motion Pictures in Columbus, Georgia. Prior to her newest role, she served over 17 years with Carmike Cinemas in progressive leadership positions. However, community service and involvement are at the heart of Ms. Trawick’s character. Her resume is filled with civic engagement and nonprofit work. She is heavily involved with Junior League of Columbus, Quadrille, the Young Professionals, the Greater Columbus Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and United Way. Ms. Trawick has twice been honored by Box Office Magazine for being a leader in her industry, and was named a Five Under Forty in Columbus and the Valley Magazine. She is a board member for the Way Down Film Festival which began this past year. Even with this extensive resume of charitable giving and work, she supports CVCC. In March 2015, she was a member of a panel of women who spoke to CVCC students about women in leadership. Ms. Trawick has been a supporter for the Chris Patterson Memorial Track or Treat 5K that raises money to support students during difficult times.

Mrs. Cynthia Wiggins Floyd

The late Cynthia Wiggins Floyd lived a life of service. Higher education was a keystone in her life. Her path began at Tuskegee University where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degree. In 1977, she began working with her alma mater as assistant director of student and support services. She held many other positions during her tenure at Tuskegee, including Title II tutorial coordinator, instructor, and assistant Title III coordinator. In 1992, Mrs. Floyd would join the staff at Chattahoochee Valley Community College as the director of counseling, advising and testing. She was a member of the NACADA (National Academic Advising Association), and oversaw the recent certification of the CVCC Testing Center by National College Testing Association. In addition to countless committees, Mrs. Floyd was known for her work with the annual career fair for students, and chairing the selection committee for All-Alabama Academic Team. She was also a member of Chi Sigma Iota, Phi Delta Kappa Educational Fraternity, Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, Delta Sigma Theta, the Tuskegee‐Morehouse Football Classic Committee and the Classic Executive Board.
