1. Go online to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at www.fafsa.gov for the current academic year and include Chattachoochee Valley Community College federal school code 012182. (We highly suggest using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool so the tax return information is accurate.)
2. Complete the general admission application for Chattahoochee Valley Community College. Submit photo ID and all official transcripts.
3. The federal processor will send you a confirmation of your processed application. The Financial Aid Office will send you a letter requesting any additional information if needed. This includes loan offer/acceptance letter.
4. Once all the documents have been received and processed, the Financial Aid Office will send you an award letter listing your financial aid award(s) and amount(s). At this time, you will be able to charge your tuition and fees, based on your award amount, in the Business Office. At the beginning of each semester, students can use their Pell Grant to charge books at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore Troy University Phenix City campus. If you receive your Pell award after the term has begun then a check will be mailed to you for the balance of your financial aid within two weeks.
